地球は完全消滅に近づいている。

原子力科学者協会（BSAC）は、「ドゥームズデイクロック（終末時計）」を昨年と同じ0時100秒に更新した。
ドゥームズデイクロックは決まった時間に更新されるのではなく、出来事に応じて更新される。パンデミック、気候変動、そして核戦争の脅威に感謝してほしい。
元マンハッタン計画の科学者たちは1947年にドゥームズデイクロックを作った。

科学者とグローバルな安全保障の専門家で構成される非営利団体「Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists（原子科学者会報）」によれば、我々が知っているような生命は破滅の瀬戸際にあるという。水曜日の朝、同団体は新たな声明を発表し、COVID-19のパンデミックに対する世界的な対応を嘲笑し、核兵器と気候変動への懸念を表明した。

そのため、同団体は比喩的な終末時計を深夜0時100秒に設定している。この指定は、同様の理由で2020年にも行っている。この設定は、1953年の最初の水爆実験以来、象徴的な黙示録に最も近づいたものである。
