Treating baby wraps with insect repellent could be an effective and scalable way to protect young children in Africa from malaria, researchers believe.
Malaria kills around 610,000 people each year, the vast majority of them children under five on the African continent.
Despite decades of effort, the current “toolbox” for fighting the mosquito-borne disease – vaccines, bed nets and indoor residual spraying – is no longer sufficient.
