ナショナル・ジオグラフィック・アドベンチャラー・オブ・ザ・イヤーのヘザー・アンダーソンは、アパラチアン・トレイル、パシフィック・クレスト・トレイル、コンチネンタル・ディバイド・ナショナル・シーニック・トレイルをそれぞれ3回完歩した唯一の女性である。これには、2018年に3月から11月の1シーズンでこれら3つのトレイルすべてを歩いた歴史的なカレンダーイヤー・トリプルクラウン・ハイキングも含まれ、女性初の快挙となった。プロのスピーカーとして、ヘザーは自身の冒険とトレイルで学んだ教訓について定期的に講演している。彼女は『Thirst: 2600 Miles to Home』（2019年）の著者で、パシフィック・クレスト・トレイル最速記録を記し、『Mud, Rocks, Blazes：Mud, Rocks, Blazes: Letting Go on the Appalachian Trail』（2021年）では2015年のAT FKTを記録している。
