ニュースリリースによると、きれいな水の活動家であり冒険家でもあるケイティ・スポッツは、6月21日に地元オハイオ州で、最新のウルトラ耐久チャレンジと募金活動「Run4Water」に乗り出す。
メンター出身の彼女の目標は、11回連続ウルトラマラソン（31マイル走）で、ウガンダの11のきれいな水プロジェクトに資金を提供し、H2O for Lifeのために34,100ドルを集め、連続ウルトラマラソン走破の女性世界記録を更新することである。
2020年、スポッツはニューハンプシャー州をノンストップで62マイルを11時間で走破した初の女性となった。その後、メイン州横断に備え、バーモント州をノンストップで74マイルを13時間で走破した初の女性となった。
