ミネソタ州の幼児がダニ媒介性のロッキー山紅斑熱で入院

1歳のジーノ・パールは、先週からミネソタ州の病院の集中治療室で鎮静剤を投与されている。

「（病院で）会う人の多くが、ここで感染者を見たことがないと言うほど新しい病気です」とジノの母親、シェルビー・パールは言う。

この感染症はキャロライナ州からカンザス州までのアメリカ中部で最もよく見られるが、ジーノはバッファローの新しい開発地で感染した疑いがある。
