移民の子供で遅咲きのソンは登山家であり、スキーはかなり初心者である。彼女は、アウトドア体験が初めての人たちや、年齢を重ねても何か特別なことをしようとする人たち（偽者症候群の話だが）を鼓舞することに興奮している。「遅咲きでも早咲きでもなく、多年草でありますように。ソンのビジョンは、より包括的なアウトドア体験につながる共感と帰属の文化を育てることだ。
