ローラ・パンコーストは人生の大半を外で過ごし、USFWS中西部地域の野生生物とスポーツ魚の回復プログラムに勤務している。2020年初頭にミネソタに移住して以来、ローラと彼女のホッキョクグマの子犬のチャマは越冬術に安らぎを見出しており、2021年のスルー・ハイキング・シンジケートのメンバーだった（チャマは名誉会員）。ローラは精神的な危機から回復を続けており、2022年3月には堂々と断酒の節目を祝う予定だ。DBSAアライアンスと NAMIで、精神疾患の影響を最も受けている個人とその家族のための地域および全国的なリソースをご覧ください。
