私はWirecutterのシニアライターで、毎朝、牛の乳を搾っている。羊の群れ、2頭目の牛、2つのミツバチの巣箱、30羽以上の鶏も飼っています。リンゴの木、ベリー畑、3000平方フィートの菜園もあります。夏には数頭の豚と約30羽の肉用鶏を飼育し、春にはカエデの木を数本植える。
田舎での自給自足の生活は大変だが、その労力の多くは管理可能であり、適切な道具を使っていれば、週末だけで済むことがほとんどだ。
