フィリップ・ワーナーはニューイングランド在住のフルタイムのアウトドア作家兼バックパッカー。彼のウェブサイトSectionHiker.comは、2018年、2019年、2020年、2021年のAdventureJunkies.comによるインターネット上のハイキング・バックパッキングブログランキングで1位を獲得。
このサイトの名前「Section Hiker」は、2008年にセクション・ハイクしたロング・トレイルと、現在も踏破中のアップラチアン・トレイルにちなんでいます。現在までにATを1400マイル完歩し、いつかジョージア州からメイン州までの全区間を完歩したいと思っている。また、TGOチャレンジ（スコットランドを縦断するCoast-to-Coast）を2度スルーハイクし、現在は同じくスコットランドのCape Wrath Trailをセクションハイクしている。
